Welcome to Social Studies 8!
The goal of Social Studies is to develop thoughtful, responsible citizens who are able to acquire information, consider multiple perspectives and make reasoned judgments. By providing opportunities to reflect on events and issues, you will examine the present, make connections with the past, and consider the future.
Social Studies 8 will focus on World Civilizations from 500-1600 A.D. More specifically, we will explore the Early Civilizations of Asia, the Middle East and Africa; the developments in Europe from the Early to Late Middle Ages; the era of discovery and exploration; and the re-birth of civilization through the Renaissance and the emergence of the Nation-State.
